Gary Johnson, President of MSP Communications, has been involved in the content creation business since 1973. In addition to teaching a graduate course in content strategy and brand journalism at the University of Minnesota, Johnson has overseen the development of over 225 print and digital titles. MSP was a pioneer in the custom publishing field, publishing custom magazines for national brands starting in 1980. Since then MSP has produced magazines, websites and digital content across every platform for international and national brands, associations, single events and organizations including, General Mills, Delta Airlines, 3M, United Healthcare, IBM, Optum Health, McKesson Corporation, Thrivent Financial, Macys, U.S. Bank, Jostens, Marshall Fields, NFL Super Bowl, MLB World Series, Independent Bankers Association, Sons of Norway, Minnesota Twins, Teradata Corporation and others.
Johnson also developed and manages two proprietary magazines, Mpls.St.Paul, a long-time leader in the city and regional magazine industry and Twin Cities Business, one of the leading regional business magazines in the nation.
