New York, NY (November 6, 2015) — The Content Council, the definitive resource for content marketing education, insights and thought leadership, is thrilled to announce the recipients of the 2015 individual Pearl Awards.
The Content Council’s individual awards for Best Content Director, Best Creative Designer, and Rising Star honor individuals in the content marketing industry that create and deliver exceptional content while continuing to innovate the way custom media is used as a marketing channel.
The 2015 Individual Pearl Award Recipients:
Best Content Director
Jayne Haugen Olson, VP Content, MSP Communications
Jayne leads the editorial and design teams at MSP Communications, including the company’s content marketing agency, MSP-C. Jayne oversees the work of more than 60 creatives developing work for 15 proprietary and custom magazines, as well as digital, social, and video platforms, and editorial-driven special events for clients such as General Mills, United Healthcare, 3M, IBM, McKesson, and Delta Air Lines.
“I could not do what I do without those I collaborate with every day,” said Jayne Haugen Olson, VP Content, MSP Communications. “I'm thrilled to have people who are willing to push and innovate, and are as passionate about what we do as I am. Though I'm receiving the award, it's recognition for what we all do at MSP.”
Best Creative Designer
Kate Barnett, Creative Director, BauerWorks
Sydney-based Kate Barnett has more than 25 years' experience as an art director across the advertising, magazine, and newspaper industries, working on some of Australia’s top media brands. This includes a long stint at Fairfax Media, working as a senior creative on mastheads for major city newspapers including The Sydney Morning Herald and Melbourne’s The Age and Good Living.
“It’s a very proud moment, personally I’m over the moon. Ever since I won my first award, it’s been a goal of mine to take out a global award. The Pearl Awards have true global clout,” said Kate Barnett, Creative Director, BauerWorks. “And this is important recognition for all of BauerWorks’ great talent, too.”
Rising Star
Bree Sposato, Senior Editor, Story Worldwide
As a Senior Editor at Story Worldwide, Bree Sposato curates content for RCI's two flagship publications—Endless Vacation magazine and RCI Ventures magazine—across multiple platforms, including print, tablet, and social media. Bree also writes for Money, Bloomberg Businessweek, Art News, and other outlets. She has a unique ability to bring her traditional travel editor background to new and emerging technologies in a way that helps RCI reach a variety of audiences (both B2C and B2B), grow its business, and achieve its objectives.

The Pearl Awards individual award recipients were judged and selected by The Content Council’s new board of advisors. The board, which provides the organization critical input and key insights, chose the winners from an array of content marketing elite.
Haugen Olson, Barnett, and Sposato will be honored, alongside the 2015 Caldwell Lifetime Achievement recipient Meredith Kopit Levien, at the 2015 Pearl Awards Gala on Tuesday, November 10th at Apella in New York City. The 2015 Pearl Awards with be emceed by MTV GirlCode’s Ilana Becker.
