In the content marketing world, video is becoming increasingly important year after year. According to CMI, video tops the three most widely adopted content marketing tactics at 87%, and for good reason. Cisco predicts that video will account for 69% of all consumer internet traffic by 2017. YouTube stats show that the channel receives more than one billion unique visitors every month, making it the runner-up to the social media giant, Facebook, for unique views. What’s more, Axonn Research shows that 7 out of 10 people view brands more favorably after viewing interesting video content from them.
There are a thousand ways to use video in your content marketing strategy to promote a deeper connection with your audience. In the words of The Content Council member Imprint, brands can showcase their human side through video, showing how consumers’ lives can be enhanced by their products or services, rather than pushing just another sales pitch. Video content can be user generated, thought-leader driven, comedic, stoic, emotive and so much more, depending on your brand’s message.
