Today’s Best In Content Marketing: The Official Pearl Awards Finalists
New York, NY(October 15, 2014) — Finalists for The Content Council’s 2014 Pearl Awards were announced today, selected from nearly 500 entries from a record of 65 different global companies. A variety of content creators submitted their best work, including content agencies, top-tier publishers and brands, highlighting luxury automakers, the world’s top airlines, major banks and more.
“We are excited to see the variety of submissions continue to grow each year,” said Andy Seibert, Chairman of The Content Council and Managing Partner at Imprint. “It just goes to show how far reaching and diverse content is, and how many different industries are getting involved.”
Winners will be announced and honored at the Pearl Awards Gala on Tuesday, November 11th at Apella in New York City. Comedian Amanda Seales, who has been featured on CNN, MTV and VH1, will serve as the emcee, and Content Marketing Institute Founder Joe Pulizzi will be bestowed with the John Caldwell Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Content Council updated the judging process this year, introducing two new judging locations to make a total of five: Atlanta, Chicago, New York City, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. Entries are judged simultaneously in each location by content marketing creators and experts; the additional judging sites helped to ensure a high level of impartial judging.
“As the content industry evolves, so does Pearl Awards judging,” said Michael Winkleman, head of judging for the Pearls and president of Leverage Media. “Objectivity, fairness, and a keen understanding of the discipline are among our highest priorities, and we were happy to have even more experts from around the country weigh in on this year’s entries.”
Participants in the awards include some of the most influential names in marketing, including Bank of America, Bloomingdale’s, BMW, Cadillac, Citi, IBM, Johnnie Walker, Mariott, Southwest Airlines, TD Bank, Time Warner, Verizon, Volkswagen, Walmart, Weight Watchers, Whole Foods and more.
Pearl Awards submissions included magazines, newsletters, websites, blogs, apps and videos. Winners will be announced in print and digital for excellence in design, editorial and strategy.
