ELLE Canada celebrates its 15th Anniversary!
Thursday, April 7, 2016 (TORONTO, ON) — ELLE Canada, the number one women’s fashion magazine in the country*, is celebrating 15 fabulous years! Complete with a glossy, confetti-filled celebratory fashion spread (and cake!), the party starts on the cover of the May issue with ELLE Canada joining its sister publications across ELLE International in featuring superstar-in-chief Beyoncé.
In the interview, Beyoncé speaks about her stance on feminism and how she embraces the term. “[A feminist is] someone who believes in equal rights for men and women. I don’t understand the negative connotation of the word or why it should exclude the opposite sex. If you are a man who believes your daughter should have the same opportunities and rights as your son, then you’re a feminist.”
Other May issue highlights:
- #EC15 – We’re celebrating ELLE Canada’s 15th birthday with a madcap contest. Readers can fill in the blanks on our back-page mad-lib party story, take a picture and post it to social media with the #EC15 hashtag. Two winners will receive a trip to Toronto for an exclusive #ELLECanadaCloset experience!
- Our special 15th-anniversary party section takes a look back at our favourite covers as well as fashion and beauty trends from the past 15 years, shares the advice our readers wish they could give their 15-year-old selves and even includes a reading from celebrity numerologist Glynis McCants. So what’s the significance of ELLE Canada magazine turning 15? “People are drawn to you,” she says. “It’s going to be a strong year.” Inspired by McCants’ reading, the party section celebrates our intelligent, spirited, independent, rebellious, artistic and passionate nature. Clearly, she’s got our number!
- The May issue of ELLE Canada also features writer Maryam Siddiqi’s epic 193-day solo-travel tale. This memoir inspired ELLE Canada to hold a contest to send FOUR readers on their very own once-in-a-lifetime tour with G Adventures! Go to ELLECanada.com/adventures to enter to win one of the FOUR trips: Morocco, Peru, South Africa and Thailand.
