Zack Bryant
Creative Director, Digital Studio
Journey Group
Zack Bryant serves as creative director at Journey Group, an independent design agency in Charlottesville, Virginia focusing on editorial design and storytelling for the most significant clients in the nonprofit sector. Our award-winning work with the University of Virginia, World Vision and the U.S. Postal Service pushes the boundaries of narrative design to grow catalog, loyalty, donor and alumni programs for enduring relevance and business success. In leading Journey Group’s digital studio, Zack’s particular focus on service design and information architecture enables his team to imagine and create a wide-range of next generation web applications and content delivery systems that serve the producers and editors as well as readers and subscribers. Having started out in the world of advertising, He takes pride in defining the right performance metrics and building systems that scale for clients doing work that matters. With a degree in Graphic Design from James Madison University and fifteen years as a professional designer, Zack increasingly writes and peaks about culture, media and design for audiences with diverse backgrounds in marketing, higher education and humanitarian relief. The driving force behind Embark, Journey Group’s design consultancy for new ventures and local launches, he’s increasingly asked to advise entrepreneurs around the country on how design thinking and storytelling as a tactic can give their brands an edge. Zack lives with his beautiful wife, Anna, and their two young daughters on a farm in the rolling foothills of Virginia. He balances his efforts on the tractor and wrangling horses with time on the back porch providing volunteer (and enthusiastic!) quality assurance of the region’s growing wine offerings.
